In 1989, with more than 20 years prior experience as a professional private investigator, I began exclusively representing clients worldwide who had been falsely accused of child sexual abuse, convicted as a result of a false allegation of child abuse, or had issues with ineffective assistance of counsel or legal malpractice.

Over the past 20 years, I have managed to develope a basic formula for assisting the falsely accused that has worked well in case after case. When retained, the first thing that I do is to meet personally with the client at their location. I want to see the client in their own surroundings and above all, I want to learn and to understand their personality. Understanding a client’s personality is far more critical than one would imagine. In any case where someone has been accused of molesting a child, the defense will normally come down to he said - she said, and who is the most credible. That being said, in order to win, my client must be more credible and more believable than their accuser which could very well be a crying child on the witness stand. For a jury to acquit, they must be willing to tell a child, “We think you are lying,” and that is a very hard pill for most people to swallow. I will never forget the words of a judge when we petitioned for a bench trial. He said, “Not a chance.” “A jury is going to make this call.” He was not about to take a chance of being in tomorrow's headline, "Judge Frees Child Molester."

A client's personality will quickly tell me how to approach the case. I certainly do not want to find well into the defense and just before trial that they were suffering from a major depression, which could easily cause them to come across to a jury as being guilty. Working with my client involves far more than some lawyer simply telling them to "tell the truth" on the witness stand, or "I don't want you on the stand."
